Friday Night

Oh how things change over a few years.  My early 20's I would rather die than be home alone on a Friday night.  But last night could not have been better.  29 years old and now my thoughts are, "I hope I don't have any plans Friday night so I can stay in and relax!" Ha! My 23 year old self would be horrified.  But I guess that is what happens, you adapt to how life changes.  Being a single girl and friends with married girls has its perks; staying home on a Friday night has become one of them.  All week I was looking forward to the plans I was making with myself for Friday night: do a couple loads of laundry, wrap up in a big blanket with a homemade bucket of popcorn and watch endless episodes of Lost until I fall asleep (which was actually around 9:30 haha!).  And it was perfection! Except for the part where I made an enormous amount of popcorn for one person, which went flying and spilling everywhere.  And when I impatiently wanted to peak under the lid to get a glimpse of the popcorn popping, a kernel popped right out and flew into my eye.  For a moment I thought I might be blind, but it all ended well.  This is the life.

Fro Yo Part 2

I am blogging this out of order because this next place was actually the first place I went to.  My friend Jillian introduced me to this wonderful place and I have to say it is my favorite so far.  The frozen yogurt place? Sweet Toppings in Andover.

I met Jillian here after work a few weeks ago on a hot Saturday evening.  They had seating outside and a bucket of colorful chalk to decorate their patio.

Here is my contribution to the art on the patio.  Notice the heart... yeah, that is because I love this place!

Just looking at this picture makes me want to go back there right away to have some more! I chose pistachio and mango flavored frozen yogurt with fruit and shaved coconut toppings. So good!
We decided to finish our treat inside where I was attacked by a bug... but I won't hold it against the place.  They have board games you can play at your table and so we decided to play a round of Dominos.  Overall, this place was amazing and my favorite so far.

Stats:  Frozen Yogurt selection: good variety and delicious.  Toppings: lots of fruit choices, great.  Ambiance: so so, there was nothing too exciting about the decoration but the chalk, board games and kids movie playing inside made it super fun.  Overall: Spectacular

Breakfast

This morning for breakfast: Sweet quinoa.  Ingredients: quinoa, almond milk, brown sugar, cinnamon.  And sprinkled on top: ground flax seed, raspberries and blueberries.  The only unhealthy thing is the sugar of course, so maybe next time I will use honey to sweeten it. Isn't it pretty? Yummy!  This will definitely go into the rotation.

Breakfast

Eggs, cheese, cherry tomatoes and asparagus from the garden. And of course my chamomile tea with orange blossom honey from the farmers market.  I'm really starting to enjoy cooking. Breakfast isn't too difficult but it is a start and a step up from cereal.

Last weekend Jillian and I went to the Mpls Farmer's Market and found colorful plants to mix and match into pots.  This is my third year gardening and I enjoy it so much.  It is almost therapeutic getting your hands dirty and creating something beautiful and watching it grow and get more and more beautiful.  I realize I do not have a big garden or a lot of space, but for the time being I will practice and enjoy my three little pots.  My dream is to have a whole garden someday to design and play with.  Maybe I'll have a hammock, a pond, and some critters roaming around.  Who knows, but I can do whatever my heart pleases because it is my dream!

FroYo Part 1

Why have I not discovered how delicious frozen yogurt is before?  Not only that, but there are so many cute little shops that sell it.  Thus begins the quest... find all the yummy frozen yogurt shops I can this summer! (I should add: then immediately proceed to the gym!)

Last night's small group we met at a place called Rainbow Yo in Blaine.  And the crazy part about this place... it is literally just a few feet down from my chiropractor.  I am not sure yet if this is a good thing or not.

Details:  Frozen Yogurt flavors- Meh.  Toppings- Meh.  Décor: Bright, Colorful, Fun.  Staff: Super Nice.  Overall:  Fun Experience.

Cookies N' Cream and some kind of tropical flavor.

It is only 8:18am Tuesday morning and I have already reached the best part of my day.  Is there anything better than this? No, that is not a question.  There is nothing better than a snuggly warm Lady basking in the morning sunshine.  I may as well go back to bed, it will not get better than this today!
